Women of Mustang
From the outset it was the women, and their lives, that fascinated me.
There was an obvious connection – the relationships, routines and responsibilities that make up our daily lives, as mothers, grandmothers, teenagers… In many ways they are different, in many ways the same. Doing the washing, making tea, scolding, teaching, working, gossiping and providing for the family.
We get married, love our kids, bury our parents. We hope and we pray and we try to protect.
Being amongst these women inspired me. In the monastery, on the bus, with the animals, young and old, they are strong and full of purpose.
So, here’s to the girls…wherever you are!
